I am in a very springy mood today.
That may be due to the fact that I have my first sunburn of the year.
WOOO!
Aloe vera is a life saver.
So yesterday I spent a good part of the day with my friend J.A. hunting for bugs.
Icky crawly bugs.
For a biology project.
Ok. So I go to an all-girl's school. Yet my biology teacher assigned this project to all of her classes of freshman girls. Umm what?
ALL-GIRLS.
Bugs don't fit into the mix.
But since we don't have a choice, we spent the day looking for bugs. We now have a grand total of nine bugs between me and her.
The other three girls in our group have a combined total of three.
So now as a group, we have to catch 18 more bugs. Then we have to kill them. Then we have to pin them to a board.
Help??
Anyway.
I wish I didn't have to waste my springy mood working. (FYI, I work at my dance studio to help pay for my classes.) She's probably gonna make me paint. I guess it's not that bad.
Things I still have to do this spring break:
lab report for biology
packet for biology
finish delivering invitations to my quince
hang out with my friends
finish my mom's to do list.
work
have some fun.
*sigh*
I guess I better go get ready, since I have to be there at ten thirty.
I'm gonna miss the live chat with Auntie Sparknotes.
Grr.
Sorry about the rant post, I'll try to be less argumentative next time.
But I'm still cheery! Sorta.
peace, love, and gummybears.
Psh, if you just catch the bugs, kill them by suffocation (which I'm assuming that that's how you're doing it), and stick them on a board, they aren't going to last too long... too much moisture. They need to be dried out first. The specialized oven-type-thingee works best, but you can use a regular oven, too. Only, don't tell your mom. I kinda accidentally let it slip last time I was doing that... our lasagna still tastes like Clorox, even 5 years later *shudder*
ReplyDeletewe have to freeze them or kill them with nail polish remover.
ReplyDeletei have a cockroach in my freezer, but i'm not telling my mom that.
i might try that! thanks!
Yup, suffocation works the best the to kill them, definitely! You just put them in a tiny enclosed space with a cotton ball full of nail polish remover, wait a couple seconds, and voila! Dead! With no outward signs! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I have a strange idea of awesome...
lol. i think we all do.
